Reece Beekman Announced as UVA’s Latest McDonald’s Athlete

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (November 8, 2022) - University of Virginia point guard, Reece Beekman has been named the latest UVA athlete to sign with the local McDonald’s franchises owned and operated by RAHE, Inc. Beekman has been working with Cavalier Futures since June 2022, but his involvement has been focused on community service and social media projects so far. This is his first major NIL sponsorship through the collective. Beekman joins his fellow UVA athletes Brennan Armstrong and Rebecca Jarrett in partnering with McDonald’s and RAHE, Inc.

Beekman is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and kicked off  his third season on the basketball team last night against the North Carolina Central Eagles. During the 2021-2022 season, Beekman started all 35 games, averaging 8.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He was ranked first in the ACC in assists (5.2), steals (2.1 SPG), and assist/turnover ratio (3.62) while being ranked second nationally in assist/turnover ratio, as well. In his first season, Beekman played 25 games, starting 20, and led the team with 30 steals. Off the court, he enjoys watching college football and
Game of Thrones

The NIL partnership follows similar deals between McDonald’s and quarterback Brennan Armstrong and forward Rebecca Jarrett which were announced in June and August of this year. Beekman will promote his favorite combo meal available at participating Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley locations, and post about both McDonald's and the local Ronald McDonald House on his social media. Some fun activations include a full-body cutout of Beekman in the participating locations alongside his fellow UVA athletes.

Beekman’s sponsorship also includes continuing his work with the Charlottesville Ronald McDonald House. “I am really looking forward to continuing to grow my relationship with the Ronald McDonald House,” said Beekman, “I have had a great time volunteering there with my teammates this year, and being able to give back to the Charlottesville community is very important to me.”

RAHE, Inc. owner-operator Rick Hendricks shared “Collaborating with Cav Futures, Rebecca, and Brennan this year has been a great experience. Being a huge UVA Basketball fan myself, I am really looking forward to adding Reece to our McDonald’s family.”

“As I have gotten to know Reece, it becomes more obvious every day how important it is to him to be an active member of his community and represent the basketball program well. He is a major contributor on the court, but he is the type of guy to go above and beyond in everything he does.” Said Lo Davis, Executive Director of Cavalier Futures.

Beekman’s sponsorship is the third collaboration between Cavalier Futures and RAHE, Inc this year. Cavalier Futures is a Virginia non-stock corporation providing an inclusive marketplace for UVA student-athletes to capitalize on their NIL. This latest deal is a continuation of their plan to build upon their relationship with RAHE Inc. to continue to bring NIL opportunities to more University of Virginia (UVA) student-athletes in the near future.
